Sisters

I was lucky enough to have my sister visit on her way back home to England.  Her travel is quite spontaneous and she doesn't mind so much since it's just her.  She has no "small people" to account for or soothe.  She can pass any waiting with a beverage from a local watering hole or even peruse through a periodical of some sort.

Two year had passed since her last visit to Texas.  Last time she came, her husband accompanied her.  This time she would be by herself.  I had no idea that I was in for a visit that would change our relationship.

Seeing her gave me a peace in my soul.  I felt an easiness just knowing she was physically in my presence.  We were able to have meaningless chats as well as heart-to-heart confessionals.  We ate together.  We shopped.  We went to the movies.  We picked up the kids and dropped them off at school.  We did everything and nothing.  She came and lived my life with me for a week. We even got to celebrate her birthday with her.
Originally, she was only supposed to visit for a couple days.  Her arrival had been delayed due to her bout with the flu.  Once she finally got here we were in the swing of our visit. Her flight back to England was cancelled due to snow.  I was so ecstatic to have her for just a few more days.  She even got to go to church with us.

Spending all that time with her and being able to have access to her whenever I wanted, made me realize how much I miss her when she's not here.  Since her departure, I can't stop thinking of her and missing her.  I love her and am so glad for this special visit.
